Undergraduate Advising

Mandatory Advising

The Department of Public and Community Health is one of the few departments on campus to have mandatory advising. All students whose major is Community Health are required to meet with their advisor at least one time each semester to plan the next registration. This helps to assure that each student is making progress toward graduation.

Students are encouraged to see their advisor at any time during the school year if they have any questions or problems. Students not majoring in Community Health but using health courses as supporting courses for other majors are welcome to confer with a department adviser.

To arrange an appointment with Dr. Hyde, please contact Ms. Beverly Monis in the Department office (2387 HHP Bldg), or call 301-405-2463.

Additional Information

If you have questions about the Community Health undergraduate program, please contact the Undergraduate Program Director, Dr. David Hyde.
